There are some people who have cravings so strong, they don’t know how they are going to stay sober. There are others who don’t experience cravings, yet all of a sudden something triggers them to drink. Many people feel weak to alcohol and this causes them to drink again. Hang Out with a Clean and Sober Friend

If you are feeling weak, it is important to hang out and spend time with an clean and sober friend. You need to spend time with others who have the same goals in mind as you do. You might be feeling weak because the summer is coming and people are inviting you to bonfires. You might be feeling weak because you are stressed about work. No matter the reason, be sure to go to or invite over your clean and sober friends. This can help you to see just why you value sober friendships.

Get to a Meeting

While not everyone goes to AA or NA meetings after their stay in an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program, if you are feeling weak, this may be something you want or need to do. These meetings can be your lifeline when you feel weak to alcohol. You may be experience cravings, triggers, or just going through a rough time. No matter the case, if you get to a meeting, you can remind yourself why sobriety is so important to you. You can remind yourself why you can’t drink again or your life will start falling apart.

Do Something Creative or Something That Exerts You

If you are feeling weak to alcohol, it is important that you find a way to bring yourself back into a calm and positive mindset. Two of the ways you can do this is to do something creative or do something that exerts you. There are many ways you can do this. Some of the creative things you might want to do are art, writing in a journal, painting, coloring with your children, or creating something. Some of the things you can do that exert you are walking, running, going on your treadmill, doing push-ups, or holding a plank for a while. Doing something creative or something that exerts you can help you to hold onto your sobriety.
