Do you take trips often? Maybe you just want to take one or two trips a year? How are you going to keep up with your recovery while taking trips? If you have gone through an alcohol rehab or drug rehab program, this may be something that is on your mind. You can’t just up and leave your life behind without any worry at all. The good news is there are ways you can keep up with your recovery while you take trips. That way you can enjoy yourself while staying clean and sober.

Attending Local AA or NA Meetings

If you have gone to an alcohol rehabilitation or drug rehabilitation program and now want to go on a trip, you must find a way to keep up with your recovery while you are away from home. No matter where you go, it is likely that you will be able to find AA or NA meetings. Before you leave for your trip, search up local AA or NA meetings in the places where you will be headed. This way you can still stay clean and sober while having a great trip.

Attending Online Meetings

If you can’t or don’t want to attend the local AA or NA meetings, it might be helpful to attend these meetings online. These are meetings you can attend no matter where you are in the world. Whether you are only traveling a couple hours from home or across the country, you can take your trip and keep your peace of mind, too.

Bring a Sober Friend

If you are going to take a trip and are worried about your recovery, it may be helpful to bring a sober friend. When leaving your daily lifestyle, sometimes you may be more tempted to drink or use drugs again. However, if you bring a clean and sober friend on your trip with you, this may make it much easier to stay clean and sober yourself. It will make it easier to keep your recovery going, as well.

If you have taken a trip and relapsed, don’t be afraid. You can put things back together. You just need to call 888-992-7955 to talk an alcohol treatment center or drug treatment center. The detox programs and treatment centers will help you set things right again.
